Since 28 June 2025, Directive (EU) 2019/882 — the European Accessibility Act — has imposed accessibility requirements on several digital services, including e-commerce. Stripe and the big international gateways don't open merchant accounts in Tunisia. To take card payments on a Tunisian website, you go through ClicToPay via your bank, or through a local gateway such as Paymee, Konnect or Flouci. The choice comes down to three concrete points: who accepts foreign cards, what commission you pay, and how many weeks the bank paperwork costs you before the first transaction.
